Meet Entries for June 19 Swim Meet and Much More!

Good Evening Sharks-

Attached is the meet sheet for this Saturday. PLEASE review it to see your swimmers events. If your swimmer is listed we expect they will be there and stay for the entire meet to cheer each other on. If they are not in this meet, you are welcome to come cheer. Remember, who get entered can change weekly, so if your swimmer is not in the Saturday meet, that doesn't mean they aren't eligible for the rest. It's all based on times and availability. Please remember, Saturday meets are competitive meets. The coaches and reps place swimmers in events that we believe will give our team the best chance of winning. If you have any questions about what your child is swimming you may find me or Alysia to discuss. Please let the coaches coach.

Next, if your swimmer is swimming, please now go sign up for a volunteer spot if you haven't already. This meet will be nothing like time trials. We have several spots open-Marshal, mask basket mover (lets hope this is the last year for that!), and snack bar. I have attached a tip sheet to help you navigate Swimtopia. Remember, for our meets, the "uniform" is a white plain shirt (no logos or Sideburn Spirit wear) and Navy shorts (Yeah, navy....no denim). Please abide by the uniform. We will be observed by the NVSL each Saturday so it is important we follow the NVSL rules.

We will begin setting up for the meet tomorrow night. If you are helping, please arrive around 7:45pm. The pool closes at 8pm so we should be able to jump right in to move tables.

The board has updated it's age requirements to be at the pool without a guardian. We are pleased to say a child may be at the pool alone 10 yr old and up until 6pm (if they have passed a swim test). Anyone 9 and under must be with a 15 and over. After 6 pm, any one under 16 must be with an adult (18 and over). The board has also asked us to remind our families to promptly leave the pool at 11am to allow the few members that come for lap swim to safely maneuver through to the pool. (On pancake Mondays, we have the 8 and unders sit near the small pavilion to eat and leave promptly when done)

Speaking of Pancakes! We all love pancakes, but please leave the pancakes for our swimmers and swimmers should only eat after their practice.

I will be at the pool tomorrow, yay Federal Holiday! So if I approach you I will ask you the secret word, - "Sunshine" - You will only know this word if you got this far in the email.

Go SHARKS!!!!!
