Divisional Information, Remaining Swim Practices and Banquet Info
HI Sharks-
Busy email day!
Divisionals- This meet, held on July 24th is when all 6 teams from our division compete. The top two swimmers from each age and gender get selected. Each swimmer can only swim 2 events from Free, Back, Breast, Fly and IM. This year the meet starts with Backstroke-then Breast, Fly, (a break) IM and Free. Because each swimmer can only swim 2 events, swimmers that are 3rd, 4th, etc make this meet. We want each swimmer, regardless of where you think you rank, to RSVP to this meet (via swimtopia). When RSVPing, you only need to list the swimmers as Yes or No, but MOST IMPORTANTLY, please list the swimmers NAME and order of preferred events in the comments section. DO NOT just give us a yes...we need to know exactly what they would be willing to swim. If you know your child is not legal, we will not place them in the meet. The results from this meet are very important to our swimmers, as the top 18 in all the NVSL in that event will make All Stars! We don't want to take a spot away from a child who could make that!
ex. Riley Miller, Back, Fly, Free, IM, Breast ---We will use this to place them in those events in that order. If for example, two faster swimmers in her age and gender pick back, we would place her in fly next. PLEASE reach out to me if you need help.
With this. Our practices will end for most swimmers on July 19th. We limit practice the following week to the Divisional swimmers, except Monday since we have the IM Carnival that day. We will let you know if your swimmer has potential to make Divisionals as a Bid IN and ask they continue with practice. We will have a final list on Thursday, July 22 for the 24th meet.
Our end of the year banquet is July 24th around 4:30pm at the pool. There will be much more info to come. This year we will cater the food and collect money from each person attending. We will hold an award ceremony and have a slide show to recap the year. This is a very special event and the kids love getting to hang with their friends. We are asking you to RSVP with your attendance now to get an idea of how many will be coming (for food planning purposes).
Please take the time today to RSVP to these two events. Thanks!
GO Sharks!
