FAST League (B Meets) Rules
Hi Sharks-
We wanted to send our B Meet League rules to you all. This document is what the team reps in our league have agreed to. Some takeaways:
- You can only swim 3 events...but, only 2 may be from Free, Back, Breast and Fly. If your swimmer wants to swim 3, the third event is IM. Not exceptions
- Our July 27th B Meet will start with IM. Then we will move to free and run the meet in the traditional order then.
- We will NOT allow deck entries on Monday unless doing so does not create a new heat. What this means is, you are much better off signing up to ensure your swimmer is in the meet. We REALLY do not want your swimmer to show up and be denied a swim. So if you are on the fence, sign them up...we can easily mark NS (no swim/show) on the card. That doesn't mean we want your swimmer signing up and backout, but for those occasions you just aren't sure if there will be a conflict, sign them up. Sign ups are due by 11:30 am on Monday (this is subject to change based on my work schedule)
Additional information about B Meets that is important also includes our rules on our IM Carnival. That is our 5th B Meet were we only swim IM. In order to swim in that meet you MUST have a valid 2022 IM time. SO...that means sign your swimmers up for IM early. Make sure they have a few shots. If they DQ and can't swim it again, they will not be eligible.
Lastly- This year we are trying a new B Meet format. The meet will run similar to our Time Trials. We will have mixed gender events. Our IM will not only be mixed gender but also grouped in different age groups. We will have 8 and under IM, 9-12 IM, and 13 over IM, all mixed gender. The intent is to provide the maximum competition and to speed the meets a long with less behind the scenes work. Don't worry, ribbons will still be awarded based on traditional gender and age groups! So that also means we are now only doing 1 shift for volunteers. We used to ask for two shifts for many of the positions. We believe the meet will end at a decent time that reducing shifts then reduces the number of volunteers. Please sign up to volunteer!
Thank you if you read this far...and thank you if you have already signed up your swimmer and yourself...Remember, we even need the NOs! Or you will be SOOOO many more emails from us...
Go Sharks!!!
